Founded by Alfred Brendel following his receipt of the 2004 Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, the Trust exists to give emerging artists what every young talent needs most: access to great instruments, expert guidance, and opportunities that open doors. Inspired by Brendel’s meticulous approach to music-making, we help musicians deepen their craft, understand their instruments, and perform at their highest potential.

Originally focused on pianists, the Trust is now expanding its scope. This change reflects Mr Brendel’s wider musical interests and enables the Trust to support outstanding young performers through masterclasses and career-defining study opportunities.
